WHAT IS ADELI  SUIT?

The prototype of the ADELI SUIT was developed in 1971 by the Russian Center for Aeronautical and Space Medicine to prevent hypo-kinesis in cosmonauts who are exposed to prolongated weightless conditions. Since 1992 this revolutionary and innovative device has proven to be successful in medical applications in rehabilitating patients with Cerebral Palsy, brain trauma and various neuromuscular disorders.

THE SUIT IS JUST A TOOL AND IT IS ONLY EFFECTIVE IN COMBINATION WITH THE APPROPRIATE MEDICAL KNOWLEGDE IN THE FIELD OF REHABILITATION AS WELL AS ADELI METHODOLOGY THAT WAS SPECIFICALLY DEVELOPED FOR THIS PURPOSE.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE SUIT COULD BE HARMFUL WHEN USED BY UNEXPERIENCED  THERAPISTS.

The Adeli Suit involves fitting the body with suit composed of elastic bands that hold the limbs in a proper alignment. The bands, which are placed between series of rings around various parts of the body, provide controlled resistance for exercising various groups of muscles.

WHAT CAN THE EQUIPMENT DO?

The Adeli Suit provides an additional vertical  load of 30 to 80 pounds resulting in increased vestibular dynamic proprioreceptive correction.
The result is a correction of proprioreceptive impulses which advance from joints, muscles band ligaments to the Central Nervous System [ CNS]

The Adeli Suit also serves as a corrective exo- skeleton that supports the body in anatomically  correct positions.
The Adeli Suit Method results in a certain normalization of the locomotive and motor actions of the patient?s trunk and lower limbs.

HOW THE EQUIPMENT IS BUILT AND HOW IT WORKS?

The Adeli Suit consists of a vest, shorts, knee pads and specially adapted shoes with hooks and elastic cords that help tell the body it is supposed to move in space. Therapists use the Adeli Suit to hold the body in proper physical alignment. During specialized exercises, the therapists adjust the elastic connectors that topographically mirrors flexor and extensor muscles, trunk rotators and the muscles` of the lower limbs. Additional attachments correcting the position of the feet, head and other areas of the body have also been designed .
A patient while wearing the Suit goes through various exercises including  "how to walk". The Suit works as an elastic frame surrounding the body and does not limit the `amplitude of movement but adds an additional weight load on it within designed limits.

HOW LONG DO ADELI TREATMENT TAKE ?

At the Euromed Clinic in Mielno, Poland, Adeli Suit treatment are administrated for approximately 2 hours  a day, 4-5 hours a day for FOUR weeks. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE that use of the Adeli Suit is ONLY ONE COMPONENT of the overall approach.

ARE THERE ANY ANWANTED SIDE EFFECTS?

The Adeli Suit does not have any unwanted side effects. The Adeli Methodology is NON- INVASIVE treatment, based on combination of very well methods of rehabilitation and novel rehabilitative techniques originated in space medicine
